Dailies: This is my photo-a-day series. Not meant to be too time consuming, too complicated, or too intentional. Often searching, playing. Occasionally biographical. Using just my canon point&shoot documenting little pieces of my day.
Grandma's House: My Grandmother has Alzheimer’s disease. For the last several years my family has been dealing with her gradual digression. This series documents my family after moving my grandmother out of her house and into an Alzheimer’s nursing home. These images are portraits; portraits of my family members, but also of the house that my grandmother had to leave. She built this house from scratch with my grandfather and raised six children in it. It was the center of her life and now it is slowly leaving her memory. For me the process of making this series is about a lot of things. It is about trying to understand aging, memories and home. It is about trying to piece together memories of lives that are not mine. Ultimately I think the series is about letting go; letting go of possessions, of home, of loved ones; letting go of grievances, regrets and joys.... all those things that make one's existence in a place in this world.
